I don't quite understand this. I guess the Sony program conceals files and registry keys from some programs, but there are still ways to see them. Maybe it requires special software like Root Kit Revealer:


It blocks the normal methods of finding these programs and processes. Some programs use special means to dig past these blocks to find what is on the system but the majority or programs including parts of Windows itself can no longer see that these exist.

Thanks for filling me in on this thing. I skimmed some of the web pages earlier and didn't realize how deeply screwed up this Sony DRM really is!

It's like letting a trusted friend into your house and having him drug you and open your doors to theives and criminals. It's horrible what they're taking the liberty of doing with your property. Total security nightmare. I imagine companies will end up banning bringing CDs to work because of this. It also seems to waste a lot of CPU time and make your system more prone to crashes. Enjoy!
