i guess i'm just a purist. run windows or run linux. no reason to run
both together.
When I'm developing something for Shawn Parker, I'll keep that in mind.
You have to realize that about 95% of computer users are running Windows
and they are either unable or unwilling to install Linux. Therefore, I
can reach those users with Cygwin.
Believe me, if you are using Windows, you will like Cygwin. I think you
are not using Windows and that is why you don't find Cygwin appealing.
The idea that the Windows user should reboot into Linux whenever he wants
to run a GNU command from the command line is obviously absurd, isn't it?
Cygwin supplies a very nice UNIXy command line that Windows "command
prompt" just doesn't have.
