I looked at it on Yahoo! news and the title- "Novell goes for SCO's Throat"- was very true. If Novell wins, SCO is deader than disco. If Novell loses, SCO will still be gone because of the large legal fees the suit will require from both sides. But if that happens, MSFT will just get another IP company to sue Novell, IBM, and Red Hat like they got SCO to do earlier.

I am personally tired of all the suits. Only the lawyers win. If it is true that IP had been honest-to-God stolen, there does need to be some action taken. But most of the time, it is just grasping at straws or to vent frustration. See AMD vs. Intel for that. Yeah, maybe Intel bent the rules a bit and needs to be reined in. But it should have been the government and not AMD to pursue this. AMD just put their improving image down several pegs with most people for suing rather than competing.

The one suit I have been waiting to see is the breakup of MSFT. Judge Jackson dodged this very deftly before and nothing really happened. I see some ambitious AG in the future taking on this case and winning. It will be bloody and ugly, but I think it needs to happen.

Some developments in Novell vs. SCO case.
Appears Novell may be tiring of the game and is going
