That depends. If they're running DarwinPorts, then they can do almost
exactly what you said. If it's in a Fink package (sic; I have no idea
why its German masters called it this) you can use Fink Commander or
just apt-get to get it. And there are other ways to get it, too
(snarfing the gnu version would be pretty easy, too, since all Macs
now ship with the full development package). I was actually surprised
it wasn't there in the first place.
