- Thread-topic: Fedora FTP install question
Does anyone have any experience with installing Fedora over the net
(FTP, HTTP, etc.) from an rsync server on a LAN. I just tried this last
weekend rather than making and installing from CDs. After the
installation was completed, I was trying to install pine/pico, from GUI,
and the Add/Remove Packages app started up requesting that I insert Disk
1, etc.
Needless to say, it seems rather silly to me to perform a network
install and still have to make the CDs. I also didn't enjoy having to
manually install about 30 additional rpms just for pine and pico when
Add/Remove Packages would have auto installed them for me all of them
for me in seconds.
Does anyone know if Fedora's Add/Remove Packages can be configured to
look to the network install source rather than asking for the CDs?
Thanks
Adam
