so, i switched from gentoo 2005.0 to fedora core 4 on my server at
home. for the most part, i'm pleased with fc4. but, i hate the lack of
"packages" available to me via yum.
i know i can install/use apt...but i really don't want to take the
time to configure it. maybe i'll just have to bite the bullet on this
one.
is there a public repository for yum as large as the ones for emerge and apt?
for example, i wanted to install jabberd to set up a im/chat server so
i could chat with friends...but doing a yum search for jabber yields
only gaim and a few other apps...none of which are jabber servers.
i'm fully capable of installing it from source. but, thanks to emerge
i'm simply lazy.
where are all the good packages/repositories for yum and fedora?
