There was an article I read today, it might have been Slashdot but I
cannot remember for sure.

Anyway, the article was saying that the OS from Apple will only work
with Apple licensed hardware. Supposedly they are working on some kind
of ROM that will allow the OS to work only on their hardware.

This will last about two minutes before someone comes out with a crack
for it. Microsoft's new security measures were cracked before the OS
was ever released.


For sure. After all OS X runs in emulation. It won't be that far to make it run on non-Apple hardware. More interesting I think though is that with x86 versions those Apple apps will be open to being treated to Wine-like usage.. but easier since OS X is Unix based and Darwin is open. I expect to see a war between Apple and Microsoft to run each other's apps while keeping the other from doing likewise.. and Linux, FreeBSD, etc happily running anything and everything they can get away with.
