I think that the concept of dropping the power PC hardware was so
inconceivable they probably thought it was some kind of side project
with no direct bearing on the future of the platform.
I've seen rumors about a version of the MAC OS designed to run on Intel
for years. No one ever denied. In fact, I think people just didn't
realize what it was for.

Thats the most amazing part of the whole story is that they have had
it ported for over 5 years and there hasnt been a leak. You think that
someone would have said something to someone in that time frame.
