IBM meeting demand is part of the issue, but it's more the demand for newer and faster processors.  SO, in that aspect you're right.

Actually, this is where you're a bit off.  Mac OS X has been running on Intel for YEARS.  i.e. 5 years.  They've done dual development of the OS to work on both platforms.

thing for the Apple lovers out there. There is now way to know for

sure what Jobs has up his sleeve, but he might be ready to actually

start gunning for Microsoft in the OS department and just might be

able to do it if he can get a platform that is very close to the x86

platform.

It's already running.  He demoed it today - it being OS X - running on an intel P4 box.    SO, next year will be a VERY interesting year....
