authentication that was broke last fall. What server are you hitting
Umm, I've got Ximian connector working right now without using the
webdav.missouri.edu system.... SO, I'm not sure what the problem is.
The other stuff, such as the Global Catalog I haven't played with
recently, but I thought I'd gotten those working too at one point
using the standard LDAP ports...

It broke Connector. Something to do with forms based login. The good
news is it broke MacIntosh clients also, so UM put up
webdav.missouri.edu.
Point connector at webdav.missouri.edu
username
SSL always
paintext password (over ssl)
Don't set up the Global Catalog, I don't know anyone that has got it
to
work.
If your on campus you can set up a directory server and use one of
the
DCs. I haven't been able to get ssl/ldap (ldaps) to work with the
evolution/connector greater than 1.4?. So plain text is it. Which
means
that to use it you have to send your userid and password plain text.
Ports 3268 plain text and 3269 ssl.
You can try: get the Universities public signing certs at
them into evolution.
You can get public certs from ldap:
"(servicePrincipalName=HOST/col-dc03)" userCertificate

Don't you have to purchase a license for Ximian Connector (think
it was
~$60 for a single user license).

I was wondering if anyone knew of an opensource/free linux
