*grin* I'm VERY tempted to try out this route, as both dad and I are 
Ham's.  The trick would be a) legality, b) frequency to use, c) speed, 
d) security, etc. etc. etc.  I haven't looked at it too heavily yet, 
but I have been considering this option.  My parents are about 10 
miles, direct line away from me, tops.  As such, I thought a solution 
like that'd work.  Figure use one of the higher frequencies where 
there's less restrictions, secure the system with either a VPN or 
something similar, go from there.  Fun thing would be then to see what 
kind of range I could get out of such a system.  Further though, it's 
one of those I'd need to make sure that enabling my parents to have 
internet access through such a system wouldn't be breaking any laws - 
I'd rather not have the FCC breathing down my neck :)
