That's an authorization failure all right. It's cutting you off right
after the password.
Something to keep in mind. COIN has both PPP dial in access, and I think
they still have some of the old text only dial in. It almost looks like
you are getting the text login prompt. Sometime there are some timing
issues with PPP and modem pools, and a text prompt is sent up because
the dialing PC sends some sequence of characters, which the access
server thinks is a dial in client trying to initiate a text login as
opposed to a PPP/PAP login. The way to fix that is to make sure you use
a blank dialin script, and let the PPP daemon take care of the
authentication.
Also, if you are trying to start a text session, and you aren't an
authorized text user, you can also get an authorization failure after
you enter your password. It authenticates you to make sure who you are,
and then it authorizes you to make sure what you are supposed to have
access to. Just because you have a good user name and password doesn't
mean you have the right to do what ever you can. :-)

Raymond,

Looks like the modem is installed OK.

The problem is something to do with authentication.

Are you *sure* the right password is set?
