I have changed some stuff in Orion Sky Lawlor's usb_pickit
(http://charm.cs.uiuc.edu/users/olawlor/projects/2003/microchip/).
Specifically, I have added autodetection of the PIC type and added
support for 12F6XX/16F6XX chips and a few other things.
My modified version is here:

If anyone knows how to contact Orion, please let me know. I've
gotten no response from his @acm.org address.
