- Thread-topic: [MLUG] Distro suggestion - UT 2004 dedicated server
I tested UT 2004 Dedicated Linux server out on my file server last
night. It ran quite smooth and did not crash like it does on Win2003.
It did however put the system load average up to .52 (average) and
sometimes spiked to 1.0 plus as soon as 2 clients (one local LAN one
remote connect) were connected to it. I am assuming the load is due to
the fact that the machine is an 866 mhz p3 with 512 ram (Red Hat 9
running Samba, Apache, MySQL). Has anyone else who has run dedicated ut
server experienced similar system load?
I am hoping load won't be as bad on a AMD 64 2800 and a bare install of
Linux.
Adam
