Another live distribution to have on hand is:

The Freduc-CD project is a Knoppix-based live cd, with the emphasis on
education/kids programs. It's really very nice. I ended up stealing lots
of ideas from this project for my son's notebook. But the live CD makes
a great impression on ordinary folks, and kids.
