Man, I feel like such a noob. I found my problem, it is called spaghetti
wires. I did not have the server plugged into the switch.
Now on to a different small problem. When I did a lsmod to see if the new
module was loading I noticed that the old module was still loading. I
checked the modules.conf and modules files but could not find any reference
to the old module. Can anybody tell me where else a nic module could be
loading from?

Subject: changing nics
To start off I will let everyone know that I run Mandrake 10.1.
OK. I had an intel e100 dual nic in my linux server. I decided that I
could use that card in another box to play with creating a router, so I
removed it from the server and installed a 3com card. After the reboot
I ran harddrake and setup the nic. When I restart networking everything
says it is OK. I have the nic set with a static 1.200 IP, the router I
am using is 1.250, and another PC is at 1.1. Here is the problem when I
ping from the server I get the following:
ping 192.168.1.250
>From 192.168.1.200 icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable
Anybody have any ideas what I did wrong?
