i'm looking for a program (gentoo package would be sweet) or script that
checks the status of server daemons-whether it's up or down-and
emails/calls me if there is a problem. i could write a perl script to do
so, but i'm sure some already exist; why reinvent the wheel.
so, if apache crashes the server would email or text message me. i know
cpanel has this functionality, but i'm not going to pay for cpanel.
