OK, I don't remember making any such argument. I was pointing out that
Mediacom costs $45 a month, and that I am hoping Columbia will get
cheaper broadband soon. This has nothing to do with Hedonism,
amorality, or situational ethics.

In respect to the valid issue that many of the group members have
brought up, I am really trying to get informed here. I'm sure my
naivity was apparent in my initial post, and I am grateful that the
MLUG peeps hooked me up with some knowledge. I hadn't really even
considered the implications of what I was doing (which would explain
me posting on a public DB :-P~~~). Knowledge does not exist in the
vacuum of the self, but, rather, it is constructed by community
processes. Oooooh, I should get an A in my doctoral seminar now. I
done learnt me summit.

The two links that were posted both dealt with information theft,
which is a DMCA violation. Which means those guys are likely gonna get
Mitnicked. Sure, the theft occurred over a wireless network, but that
was not the issue.

My question still stands. Without knowing the intent of the provider,
is it a crime to connect to his/her AP? Whaddy'all think? Is this a
hella heinous act?

Laterz,

Matt
