Sort of. It's also the unix way to share code with others. It can't be
that hard to make a case insensitive version of ls, or to make a command
line option to turn on case insensitivity. If case insensitivity can be
implemented in grep, it can be implemented in ls. Someone must be against
the idea or it would have happened by now.
We have some VMS machines here. Those users are used to case
insensitivity and, if I try to get them to use Linux, they are likely to
complain that Linux will not allow case insensitive dir listings.
