No help, sorry, but a question: did you have any X-related installation
problems? I tried installing SuSE 9.1 and it wouldn't even recognize my
video. Had to do a text-based install and manually config X. It still
wasn't really right and I gave up. Not worth the aggravation. SuSE 9, which
I'm on now, has been completely trouble-free.
