Hi all,
I have a box running suse 9.1 that started going to sleep and not
waking up. The problem became increasingly bad until it was happening any
time the machine was left unattended for more than 5 minutes. The
progressive nature of the problem suggested to me that it might be an
overflow problem or "leak" (I dimly remember such a thing from the 4 weeks
I tried to survive CECS 203 before deciding I'd be having more fun hitting
myself in the head with a 2X4 and learning on my own), so I did a
reinstall, with no love. Then I poked about on line and there were some
suggestions to reset the CMOS.
This I did, and the problem appears to be solved. I am trying to figure
out why the OS would be affecting the CMOS, and how to get solve the
problem without having to nuke the system.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Gabe
