Ok have an update...
Not the Raid and not the network... it is samba on Linux talking to
samba on Linux... I hacked on the Raid box itself and couldn't get a
hiccup then I threw every windows machine I had at it and couldn't get
the server to break a sweat... SO, the solution so far is nfs...
(which I should have used from the start especially considering the
awesome throughput...)
Anyway... I am still interested if anyone has had issues with
mis-matched drives in a raid or if anyone has setup a freaky raid such
as scsi matched with ide or other...
