[MLUG] Unix\Linux Email Server Appliance

Does anyone have any suggestions for an email server appliance for 1000
student email accounts? We are looking for an all in one box that has a
GUI\Web based front end for administration so students could manage the
system.

I know Sun has the Cobalt RaQ 550 but it looks like overkill.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
