mkdir /mnt/bengal
mount -t smbfs //bengal.missouri.edu/JohnsonG /mnt/bengal -o
workgroup=UMC-USERS,username=montgomerysmiths
You can add additional options such as ",password=xxxxx"
or--better--supply password via ",credentials=filename". See "man
smbmount". You can make this part of your /etc/fstab auto-mount, or
make the "smbmnt" command suid so non-root Unix users can mount their
own files.
