The 5200 was more than acceptable, but it was a PCI card. I got it as an upgrade to an older system without an AGP slot. The PCI 5200 just didn't have the texture bandwidth of the AGP versions. So I got an AGP 5700 with twice the video RAM. It's nice... ;)

I have had high perfoemace 3d cards since the Voodoo2.
2-Voodoo 2 SLI // excelent dirvers for the time
Voodoo 3 // good drivers
Voodoo 5 // ran like the 3, drivers never took advantage of 2nd chip
Gforce 2 // good driver at tiume
Gforce 3 Ultra //good drivers at time and got better and better.
Ati 9700 All in wonder Pro // never stable, hard lockups of machine,
drivers don't take advantage of some of 3d features.
The TV stuff is not supportted in the drivers at all.
Lockups occured even not in 3d mode. But, stable with

                 non-3d drivers.
Gforce 6800 OC // brand new, but I expect good results. America's army

fired right up after install. Quake 3 is goning to take
some configuring. Waiting for Doom 3 for linux.
Nvidia Quatro??? The University labs with linux boxes have these. Good
stable drivers works with the 3D rendering programs.
                 ATI's didn't.
Gforce 5700 // Woodsmall has one of these and likes it. He said 5200

                sucked.
