I am pondering getting a decent 3D card to work with FreeBSD (whose
requirements are probably very similar to Linux). I am torn between
getting an ATI card or an NVidia card. I know that an Nvidia card works
well with the Nvidia drivers, but I am wondering how well the ATI
drivers with X windows compare? (For example, does the ATI card require
a modification/module to the kernel like the Nvidia cards, and if it
doesn't, does the lack thereof make it slower.)
Please share your experiences with me.
Stephen
