Only if your clients also need to listen for replies. TCP isn't affected,
but we have some UDP connections going that spit out a query and wait for
a reply by listening to a socket. With hindsight, that may have been a
mistake - but it works really well, when a firewall doesn't block it. I
like the low overhead of UDP, and for something simple like "help, give me
configuration data!" as a broadcast, it's pretty much the only way to go.
