Memory is a commodity item, and as such is subject to a lot of the games
that are played in that market by suppliers.
As for Corsair specifically, I can tell you from experience that they
have a lot more overhead with respect to advertising, etc. than a lot of
memory suppliers. Back when I was running fastsilicon.com, they sent us
a lot of review samples and were very retail-oriented with their
packaging, etc.
