I personally use the Linksys WRT54g router.

I have been very happy with it thus far; the only thing is as you
mentioned the range. I would guess that it is usable in the 100 ft
range. I am also running a Linksys NIC

The problem is that I have never been able to it to with under Linux.
It works like a champ under Winblows. If you think that you can get it
to work under Linux, I think that it is a great system. It has the
newest encryption standards, and is a cinch to set-up, and get running.
I think that I spent $150 for both the router and the card at Staples.
I had a netgear router, <wired> but it would not allow me to connect to
MU's exchange servers. It was weird, so I replaced it with a wired
Linksys. Everything worked fine.
Best of Luck
Mike

Subject: [MLUG] Linksys or Netgear... Opinions Please
I am looking for wireless router opinions.
I going to replacing my current DLink 802.11b router with a new 802.11G
router
Netgear WGT624 (version 2)
http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.php?prodID=214&view=
and the Linksys WRT54GS
http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=35&prid=610
are my final two choices because they both offer the speed boost 108
mbps connection with the proper 802.11G card.
Also I am leaning more towards the Netgear because they claim to have
the longest broadcast range out of any wireless router (300 feet) where
as Linksys doesn't say how far theirs will broadcast.
Does anyone on this list have experience with either one of these
routers? If so, could you please give me your opinions of them?
Thanks
Adam
