How much were you looking at spending? If you just want dedicated
hosting I've been pretty happy with 1and1.com. I have a self-managed
machine with them for $50/month and it comes with 40GB of hdd space and
500GB a month of free bandwidth. It came with RedHat 9 on it I think but
I wiped that out and installed Fedora Core which I then customized the
hell out of. Extremely fast Net connection.. pretty much the fastest
I've ever seen. Can add domains, ips, etc from their handy web based
account admin tool. You can even reboot the machine into an emergency
'oh gawd I fscked it up' mode and use that to log back in and fix
things.. handy if you do something like delete the network interfaces
(which I did). They were kind of slow on the initial setup but
everything since has been very good.
