I've been getting a lot of similar weirdness; I auto-delete them at 
this point.

Yup; I *never* read email on a Windows box.

I'd love to hear the answer, but life is too short for me to track 
down every email weirdness that's not my fault. :-)  My guess is 
that your email address was harvested by the bad guys, as was mine.
