I am working on a new linux box for an IT Essentials class and one of my objectives is to move from RedHat 9.0 with the 2.4 kernel to the 2.6.5 kernel. I have the rpm packages and the source code. I have numerous generalized walkthroughs on how to upgrade kernels, but they don't help much. Does anyone know where I can find some precise or at least complete walkthroughs? Or has anyone upgraded the RH9 system?
