i have a ibm thinkpad 600x. i believe they use the same hardware. my
sound seems to work fine with red hat, fedora and archlinux. i've never
tried to install anything else on this box.
i don't generally do anything magical to get the sound working. have
you have any problems in windows? sure the hardware is working?
