I'd guess ten years old. When I buy or build a new computer,
I move my primary drive to the new one, which is much easier
than installing new software or having to use the preinstalled
software. I think this drive has been in five computers now,
and it's had the same basic software for about six years built
around Win98SE.
This drive is not one of the models listed, and I have tried
disabling DMA. The howto says "You should not use UDMA
with these drives as it may cause corruption of data" but it
doesn't suggest data can't be read at all.
