Try upgrading your kernel - there's a few systems that warn of this
with certain chipsets, as some chipsets are VERY funky. And whether
those chipsets work, how well, etc. is very dependent on the kernel.
There's also a few places in the kernel config that used to have some
settings you could turn off if you got this issue, although I don't
remember where they're at now. I'd recommend reading through every
possible config item in the kernel - if nothing else, it helps you to
understand what everything does, how it all relates, etc.
Also, another possibility exists - SuSE hit this error the other day on
an Athlon machine, and automatically did something which correct the
problem, but I didn't see what they did. There may be a parameter
someplace to fix this - but, I'd try first upgrading your kernel.
After that, I'll take look, see if I can find anything in the SuSE
configs for the harddrive settings.
Cheers!
