At home I've been using Spambouncer (http://www.spambouncer.org/), which
is a giant Procmail recipe. The beta version is *very* good at
deflecting a serious onslaught of spam. I'm using the same e-mail
address I've since the early days of the net, and I get piles and piles
of spam all the time.
In addition to running as a personal procmail recipe, you can also use
it as a spam filter for a stream of incoming mail. So instead of nuking
likely spam to /dev/null, it can just stamp your messages with a header,
and let you (or your users) handle final filtering at their client. I do
this with Outlook and some simple filtering rules.
