I usually install FreeBSD, which is definitely not as user-friendly as 
Mandrake.  So when I was told that Debian was hard to install I didn't 
really think that applied to me.  Admittedly I didn't put that much 
effort into it, but I never could get the installation to work.

(Probably it was because my system had a mix of IDE and SCSI drives on 
it, which confused the bootloader(s).)
