Hmmm, I've had the MR814v2 for over 3 months now without any problems.  I
use the netgear usb adapter on my laptop sometimes and it usually connects a
computer in another room because I got tired of having a wire run down the
hall.

And yet more intrigue.  Sifting through wildly variable reviews at
Amazon I see:

Bleah.  So I guess now I wonder: is there a cheap D-Link or a
Linksys that would be a better choice here?
