I don't use any space at all but the mlug server is a great place to use for
outside testing (can I telnet here, here, etc. etc). So if you come up a
little short on cash let me know and I'd chunk up $25 or so.

Subject: Re: [MLUG] mlug.missouri.edu /home/ getting full
Hey folks,
I've contacted Michael off list about reducing his disk usage. Hopefully
we'll have it resolved in the next few days. In the meantime we have
enough space to get by, so everyone please be groovy.
I feel I should clarify that it's not appropriate to use mlug as a file
dump. If you are hosting a large website which is appropriate for mlug or
working on a programming project, that's fine, but you should not need
more than about 1-2GB of space. Blame me for not articulating this until
it was absolutely necessary. :) I may put some sort of (fairly liberal)
disk quotas in place to make this clearer.
Several people expressed interest in chipping in to buy a new hard drive
for the server. If anyone who wants to donate towards the cause could
contact me on or off list and let me know, that would be great. I'd be
willing to put forth $50 or so, and I see that Office Depot has a 160GB
Maxtor UATA/133 for $149.84.
