It's some goofy quirk.  There are a couple tutorials I
found on the web, but no luck as of yet.  Can't even
install the rpm.  The library is installed, linked and
even put the path to it in /etc/ld.so.conf.  At this
point I'm stuck.

On a side not, this is the reason that Linux is having
so much trouble being accepted by the mainstream.  I'm
used to the fight here and there to get stuff to work,
but the average user just isn't willing to jump
through all these hoops.  They just wanna plug it in
and have it work.  If we're to bring linux to the
masses we're gonna have to make it a little more
"moron" friendly so to speak.
