As said for the webmail system in an earlier email, they're paying for
it right now. They're wanting to stop using their current email
system. As a result, I'm looking at options. In addition, yes, php
works under IIS and will do fine, but if the entire mail system moves
to a unix box, like the rest of the system, that's much more efficient.
I would install php and then the webmail component, but for right now,
it doesn't matter. The current email software in use includes a
webmail interface. Removing the webmail interface doesn't reduce the
cost (to my knowledge) so it's an all or nothing kinda deal.

As for being tied to IIS, it's more a matter of being tied to ASP
pages. The whole site is currently written in ASP, and I'm working on
converting it to either php or Java. The concept here is to use "free"
technologies so upgrade fees aren't an issue.

For the webmail thing, it's more of if I go ahead and move the email
system from Windows to OS X Server or Linux, at that time, I might as
well move the webmail client - do it as an all type thing. Currently,
they're not using webmail.hostname.com but hostname.com/webmail/ or
something along those lines. As such, it's not an immediate concern.
Regards,
Jason
