This is exactly the problem they're wanting to exploit. Too bad for them,
IBM has the better lawyers.

Again, it comes down to the better lawyer. Not to mention the fact that
IBM has the free world behind it, while SCO has just MS who has to be
quietly behind it. Anyone SCO has to bring in will be paid by SCO, IBM can
bring in a lot more and better respected experts for their defence.

They know they're dead as a viable company. They're trying to exploit
their history and bail with as much money as they can salvage, much like
Enron.
