Does anyone have any experience hacking the TiVo Linux OS.
Specifically, I have a DirectTiVo Series 2 with software version 3.1 on
it and I bought a Linksys wireless USB nic (model # WUSB11) -- this
model is the only USB wireless that tivo officially endorses. My TiVo
box did not auto detect the nic as it should have, and documented
hacking sources say that I should upgrade to version 4.0 if my box did
not detect the nic. Unfortunately, none of those documented sources
tell me how to actually force a software update from 3.1 to 4.X without
turning the box into and expensive paperweight for my entertainment
center. I would be most grateful if anyone can help shed some light in
this area.
