Did your taskbar start up? 
Could you perform any activity on X or it just hangs up? If it just doesn't 
respond for anything, for mouse clicks and taskbar doesn't show up, it could 
also be a possible problem with your X instead KDE. 
Try using GNOME(or any other) and see if you face the similar problem. If so, 
then try re-configuring your X.
