I have to argue with you a little on this.

This is true mainly because the companies that invested in Novell do not
want to spend the money to change.

While this is a true statement, Active Directory in Windows comes very
close, in fact the new active directory in Windows 2003 is even more
close to what Novell is. Novell is still better because they are the
pioneer in it.

While Novell is ONLY one of the systems that can do that, there is one
OS that puts a huge thorn in Novell's side that can do this very same
thing. Windows Active Directory can do this through Group Policies and
in fact I have found that the Windows version of it is much easier to
configure and make it work.

I know a lot of companies that are switching though. Many of them that
are moving from Novell are doing it as they roll out new servers and
such. I think Novell is still going to be a viable server option for
many people but the real issue is that Windows can do many of the things
that Novell can do, and is already integrated into their current
operating systems in their business.
