I know it isn't popular with a lot of old-school Linux people, but as one who is pretty new to Linux but really wanting to be MS free, I am finding that SuSE 9.0 and StarOffice 7.0 are doing a wonderful job. I'm trying to switch from PhotoShop to Gimp, DreamWeaver to BlueFish or Quanta Plus, PageMaker to ___________, QuickBooks to __________, etc, etc.
Yes, regarding SuSE 9.0 and SO 7, I paid for them. But it was a very reasonable cost, and I don't have a problem with companies trying to pay the bills. I hope that Novell buying SuSE turns out to be a good thing for the continued evolution and progression of the Linux desktop in the marketplace.
