It happened again; although I could install the "Personal Desktop" RH 9 completely. It was during the installation of the additional packages that the machine shutdown. Call me stupid, but me thinks there is something about the tetex packages. Of the seven times I have tried to install RH 9 in the last 3 days, on the two occasions that I was staring intently at the monitor as to what was being installed, it has been tetex when my system collapses. Well...I am gonna try once again ...lemme see if removing those packages will be of any help....

And Michael...the only thing suspicious about the logs on other consoles
during installations is this following line:

<4> Spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7

Does that tell you anything that might indicate a definite hardware issue causing the installation to act the way it is?
