Of course you're right. Most people are like you. Just a few years ago
it would take an experienced person an entire workday to install Linux on
one machine. Times have changed. It's *much* better today (partly, to
be fair, because computers are faster) and installation is a lot easier.
A working Linux system is very nice to use, but it won't do everything you
want and somethings will still be very difficult. I think we'll continue
to see major advances.
It's possible that you'll find that Lindows does a better job of handling
some devices. I'm not sure about that. It does run some of the major MS
software products.
