I see. This must be a big hassle in major corporate uses where constant
uptime is critical. How does something like Google cope with this?! (You
don't have to tell me!)
By the way, I received something in the mail yesterday announcing keynote
speakers for the American Society of Cell Biology meeting. The first of
the two speakers is Sydney Brenner, a huge scientific star who finally won
a long-deserved Nobel Prize a year or so ago. The second speaker looks
about 30 years old and he is Sergey Brin, Co-founder and President of
Technology for Google. The two speakers are given equal billing and they
will both speak on "A Vision of the Future for Science." I find it
interesting that they chose to have Sergey Brin speak, but I am so
impressed by Google that I think it seems reasonable.
