I never had any issues with dotster.com.
I've also used register.com with good results.

Dotster was less of a PITA for me to use than register (and the multitude of random registrar's an ISP of mine was using)...
which is why I chose it for my personal domains.

I used register.com before switching to whyi.org. Overall, it was okay and
easy to use but whyi.org is cheaper and seems more personal if you have
problems. Here in a few days when I update my registration for another
year I'll be sticking with whyi rather than looking for somebody new (as I
did after trying register.com).
